I am Aleksander, but you can call me Alek. I am a classically trained actor and a musical theatre encyclopedia at heart. I am back in NYC after a two year hiatus in London, where I earned my MFA in Classical Acting for the Professional Theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramtic Art. Before any of that:

I was born in Canton, Michigan, the son of a first generation immigrant from Kalamata, Greece. I am proud to be dual-citizen of both Greece and the USA.

From a young age I chased adventure. Curiosity took me everywhere, and by thirteen I had earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Still, there was more to discover. That is when theatre found me.

I first fell in love with theatre because it quieted my OCD. Until then I spent each day caught in obsessions and rituals. Onstage, that noise finally stopped. Acting let me give myself fully to building a life for a character and living in it for a moment before moving to the next. That practice taught me presence, care, and honesty.

Since those early days I have kept performing. I have been lucky to make theatre with people from many places and backgrounds. It has been an honour to help tell their stories as well as my own. Along the way I found the love of my life, Madison Merlanti, a partner who matches my grit and keeps me true to my aim.

My work has taken me across the United States and beyond. I have performed in dozens of musicals and classical plays, and I have recorded many audiobooks.
